The good news is that we will be starting the season this year with SNOW ! … and there is more on the way.
Just up on the glacier at Tignes to check out the snow conditions. In sheltered areas there is about half a metre of powder where you don’t hit rocks beneath. The more exposed skied-out windpack is predominant on the upper slopes around 3500m. Lower down at 2000m – coming into Val Claret – the piste was in perfect condition – unusual for this time of year. Temperatures are low now and snow making is underway. The station opens fully tomorrow 28th November. Both Tignes and Val are still empty so the skiing will be great.
Looking over to Val d’isère from the top of Tignes Glacier…
