Today e only added one more technical component: The adductor muscles!
Place a ski pole between your two legs and hold it pointing straight out in front just by squeezing the upper legs together – that’s the adductor muscles.
When skiing the adductor muscles keep the skis together – in this case the legs were being used independently but the narrow stance gives the illusion that both skis are being used at the same time.
The legs and skis are being used independently but with greater efficiency due to the narrow stance. using the outside edge of the foot throughout the turn makes turn transitions smooth and protects teh knee and hip joints – permitting a more natural angulation. All of this can only be achieved when dynamics (Newton’s 2nd law), forward pressure (including finishing turns), early pressure and independent use of the legs are all in place.
