Today it was a good decision to cross over into Les Arcs 2000 via the Transarc lift up to 2600m altitude. One of the blue runs was easily negotiable for everyone. Bethany seemed to have a new lease of life altogether and I can’t help thinking it’s just because we moved away from the closed in confines of the beginner slopes in Les Arcs 1800. It’s as if the a change of context made all the difference.
Most of our time was used for familiarisation with new territory and chairlifts. Long uninterrupted runs were possible without worrying too much about the overcrowding of other skiers on the runs. It’s important to have to opportunity to self correct. Everyone was skiing more dynamically – but Sally is the one who shows dynamics visually on the video. Still lots of tension to work out of the body – for everyone – but this side of the mountain is far more suitable for facilitating that.
