Basically – the key issue to remember is that it’s the direction of the trajectory of the centre of mass that determines everything – whether the ski is travelling forward and providing the same function as a bicycle at speed or whether the ski is travelling sideways and using support from a pole plant.
Conscious Skiing
Allow all of this to converge into “conscious skiing” so that you are aware of what you are doing with your body and how the turn shapes and rhythms generate control.
