Lots going on today!
Tallulah showed that she can ski – as well as play in the snow. The “carrots” were used for Tallulah’s own short course to work on taking a proper slalom line – making the technique more functional.
Daisy is a good athlete but she has missed a lot of background work in her skiing. That’s hard to circumvent in a short period of time. Daisy needs the foundation for her skiing to be given more attention. Two images are posted below – one showing the independence of Alex’s legs are the other showing Daisy with two legs symmetrical. Tomorrow we’ll try to get daisy much more “one footed” but I suspect the ski boots are stopping her from extending the outside leg in the turn.
Alex Now that rotational/angulation issues are far better controlled making it almost certain to stay in the course – it’s time to focus on ramping up performance. There needs to be two concurrent approaches…
One: just consolidating the (recent) major elements that make you bomb proof.
Two: revisiting all of the elements needed to generate speed and efficiency.
It s a very long time since we worked on leg retraction or “separation of the trajectory of the feet and centre of mass” or skating elements or getting the timing of the apex optimal (resonance). Some of those things should just fall into place naturally now.
