Russell, Ethan, Ffion, Julie

Julie can ski and here’s the proof – using gentle dynamics. The modified “dynamic” version of the snowplough wasn’t working for Julie but worked very well for Ffion. If we had more time I’m certain that going through beginner’s exercises for skating turns would have done the trick. Julie should read through the “Beginner’s” link here in the blog http://madeinmountains.com/beginners/ This shows how to develop a dynamic skier without the need for any snowplough at all. Ffion could use this too by practising the exercises demonstrated on video – to develop more confidence and be comfortable with speed.

Russell and Ethan should use the “Dynamics” and “Pivot” links at the top of this page. Both made great efforts to access those skills and this was enough to produce visible results. Both pivot and dynamics cultivate direct control over the centre of mass – which is the key to all competent skiing.
