Levi

Levi is making a great attempt to coordinate a lot of new movements – dynamics, pivot, getting forward, hip angulation, using the upper body actively (moving laterally across the skis) and controlling rotation. (all those elements are visible)

Here’s a short comparison video clip where there is excessive body rotation.

We overed so much ground I’m just going to reference other posts which cover the subjects..

  • Dynamics
  • Skating
  • Pivot
  • Combining Dynamics and Pivot
  • Postural Reflexes
  • Hip Angulation

All those subjects above are to be found here…

The “Punch” can be found in the following link by scrolling down to “Day 5”

  • “Punch” with the uphill arm to force the upper body laterally across the skis downhill

I don’t have any examples of Compression turns – it’s when you don’t extend to create dynamics – you compress (on a bump) – skis together – pivot – and use a strong pole plant

  • Compression Turns

We covered a lot of ground and much of it was visibly working already – results will come from this rapidly.
